Why professionals use VIDIUTOR

Not because it searches.
Because it remembers.

Every editor remembers the shot. Nobody remembers where it's stored.

The hidden cost

Editing isn't the slow part.
Finding footage is.

Editors lose hundreds of hours a year digging through drives, folders, and old projects, hunting for clips they know exist.

[00:00-00:08] HOOK, direct to camera

"Quick question: how many hours did you lose last week digging through hard drives, looking for a clip you know you have?"

[00:08-00:20] PROBLEM, b-roll: drives, folders, scrubbing

"I'm Jaime. I run a production company in Miami. Fifteen years of footage. Seventy-two terabytes. And until recently, finding one shot could eat an entire afternoon."

[00:20-00:35] REVEAL, screen recording, hero search

"So I built VIDIUTOR. Watch. I type 'nurses walking in a hospital hallway'… and every matching clip, from every drive, appears. Ranked. Previewed. Instant."

[00:35-00:50] DEPTH, screen recording, dialogue + visual search

"It searches what people say, 'we tripled revenue this year', boom, exact moment, exact timecode. And it searches what's in the frame: objects, colors, emotions, locations."

[00:50-01:05] TIMELINE, screen recording, send to NLE

"Select the clips you like, hit send, and there's your stringout, trimmed to the moment, sitting in Premiere, Resolve, or Final Cut."

[01:05-01:20] PRIVACY, back to camera, NAS on desk

"And here's the part that matters: your footage never leaves your computer. No uploads. No cloud. It indexes right on your NAS, your RAID, your drives."

[01:20-01:30] CTA, direct to camera

"VIDIUTOR. Find any clip you've ever filmed. Get it at vidiutor.com, your archive is about to remember everything."

Indexing, search, and playback all happen on your own hardware. That's not a policy you have to trust — it's how the software is built.

Under the hood

Multiple specialized models. One search box.

Footage Intelligence is not one model. VIDIUTOR runs a coordinated stack of specialized AI models that work together to understand your footage — every frame, every word, every scene.

Visual Understanding

Objects, people, actions, locations, and composition — recognized in every frame of every clip.

Speech Recognition

Every spoken word transcribed and timecoded, so a half-remembered quote becomes an exact moment.

On-Screen Text (OCR)

Signs, slates, whiteboards, jerseys, lower thirds — if it's readable in the frame, it's searchable.

Semantic Understanding

Meaning, not keywords. "Surgeon" finds the doctor in scrubs even if no filename ever says surgeon.

Scene Analysis

Shots, takes, and coverage understood as scenes — so results arrive as usable moments, not raw files.

Runs On Your GPU

The whole stack is optimized for modern GPUs — Apple Silicon and NVIDIA RTX — and runs entirely on your machine.

Your media never leaves your hardware.

That is not a policy, it is the architecture. Version 1 has no cloud features at all.

Two indexing speedsNormal mode indexes quietly while you work. High Speed mode is built for big libraries: run it overnight and wake up to several terabytes indexed. Indexing is read only and never writes to your media drives.

Built for professional libraries

Point it at everything you own.

VIDIUTOR is built for the way professional footage actually lives — scattered across hardware, accumulated over years, far too big to reorganize.

External SSDsEvery pocket drive on the shelf becomes part of one searchable library.
RAID arraysIndex your working storage at full speed, without touching a single file.
NAS systemsThe deep archive down the hall, searchable from the machine you edit on.
Multiple drives at onceOne index spans all of them — even volumes that are currently offline.
Hundreds of thousands of clipsBuilt and tested on six-figure clip counts, not demo folders.
Years of archived projects2014 is as searchable as yesterday. Nothing ages out of reach.
Archive intelligence

Your entire archive. Not just your current project.

Footage doesn't need to be imported, organized, or opened in an editing project to be found. If it lives on a drive you own, it's one sentence away — including media you haven't touched in years.

Important note: VIDIUTOR analyzes and indexes footage locally. Performance varies based on video format, resolution, archive size, storage speed, available memory, and GPU capability. Indexing is read only and completely safe for your drives, but it does use system resources. For large libraries, run High Speed indexing overnight while the computer and storage are not in use.

Questions

Asked and answered.

VIDIUTOR runs on macOS (Apple Silicon, M3 or newer) and Windows 11 with an NVIDIA RTX GPU. Full minimum and recommended specs are listed in the Specs & Requirements section above.

Codecs from Sony, Canon, Blackmagic, RED, Nikon, and all major camera manufacturers, including 10 bit XAVC, BRAW, R3D, and long GOP formats. We ship periodic updates so VIDIUTOR keeps up with new codecs as new cameras come out.

No. Indexing, search, and playback all happen on your own hardware. Version 1 has no cloud features at all. Your media never leaves your machines.

Yes. Indexing is strictly read only. VIDIUTOR never writes to, moves, or modifies your media files, so there is no harm to your drives or footage. Indexing does use system resources, so we recommend not indexing a drive while you are actively editing from it. For big libraries, run High Speed indexing overnight while the computer and storage are idle: several terabytes will be indexed by morning.

The index persists. Clips on disconnected drives stay searchable, and VIDIUTOR shows you exactly which volume holds the file so you know what to plug in.

Select the clips you want and press Create Timeline. VIDIUTOR writes an XML file that opens in Adobe Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or Final Cut Pro, with each clip trimmed to the matching moment and referencing your original media at its original timecode.

One license per seat, meaning per computer. If you install on two computers, each needs its own license and activation code. You can deactivate a license on one machine and activate it on another anytime, but two computers cannot use the same license at the same time. Need multiple seats for a team? Talk to us and we will set you up.

Yes, two ways. Every download starts with a free 10 day trial that indexes up to 1 TB of footage. And every purchased license comes with a 15 day money back guarantee, no questions asked.

No. Keep your structure exactly as it is: organized, chaotic, or somewhere in between. VIDIUTOR indexes what is there and your workflow stays your workflow.
